Hi Abhishek! Thanks for your questions. You need to first select the component in Grasshopper (your surface component) and then bake it; Solution > Bake or hit your Insert button (in Windows). Also make sure no commands are running in Rhino and your baking to a layer that is not locked in Rhino. The difference between a solid and a dashed line between components has to do with the data that flows through the wire. Solid means that the data flowing trough is a flattened ‘simple’ list and dashed means the data has a tree structure ordered in various branches.
