There are some commands and components used in the course that are from the new Grasshopper included in Rhino 6, so this is not possible unfortunately. Nevertheless, you can use Rhino 5. All the geometries are internalized in the Grasshopper definitions., so you don't necessarily need the Rhino files, just the Grasshopper files. The Rhino files from lesson 08 and 09 are the result of baking the geometry from the Grasshopper files from lesson 07 and 08 respectively. Maybe Grasshopper will give you some trouble opening the files, but I don't believe so.
