I understand in your Hyder Aliyev Center you call for T splines as a plug in. Sadly I understand that the T splines plug in now only works with Rhino version 5. Is this understanding correct. If so how what is the work around for creating this type of model without the ability to install T splines. I seem to think therefore that this tutorial is now out of date as T spline plug in is now longer working?

Hi James,
Autodesk bought T-splines a couple of years ago. They said back then they would keep it running for Rhino... Unfortunately that promise went out he window and they killed it. They integrated it with there own software called Fusion. Read more here: http://www.tsplines.com/blog/2016/11/autodesk-plugins-for-rhino/
You can still download the latest installer from the t-splines website: http://www.tsplines.com/resources/releases/4/TSplines4.0_r11183ForRhino.exe
To answer your question, yes there is another method! Rhino is working on their own 'Tsplines' solution, called Subd (for subdivision). You can try it for yourself: draw a mesh, select it, and execute the command "SubdFromMesh". This will turn the mesh into a subd. This command only works in Rhino 6 and it does not autocomplete, it's a 'hidden' command, because it is still very much in the beta stage. I plan to update the videos with Rhino 6‘s new ability to add Subd’s as soon as it is more mature I’ll make some updates.
Best!

Arie,
Many thanks for your note.
With regards to your comment - "You can still download the latest installer from the t-splines website: http://www.tsplines.com/resources/releases/4/TSplines4.0_r11183ForRhino.exe " Is this for Rhino 5? We were having some trouble uploading this into Rhino 5. Perhaps I could publish, in due course, specific issues which you may be able to help out with regarding the install.
As a general point we are working on a modest building which is an extension to a small historic cottage. Given the issue above what package would you use to model this geometry?
We have found that the new Revit organic modelling tools not really that great. It was for this reason we decided to look into your tutorial on Rhino.
Our team knows Max a little and Rhino less. We also know nothing about Fusion. Is fusion not more for products instead of buildings?
What route would you take. Would you keep to Rhino 5 and try to install T splines? Or would you model it in Max. Or would you start again with Fusion. What is the best when bringing it into Revit again for the production drawings.
Many thanks again for your time.
James
