What does the Explode component do?

Question

What does the Explode component do? 
I'm guessing before it was included, a Line would consist of two points; a start and end. 
After the Explode Component was included, it would divide a Line into 5 segments?

Hi Dan!
The explode component does the same as the explode command in Rhino. It breaks down a curve into its individual line pieces. In this case a polyline (square) was inserted; so 4 line segments got returned, plus the 5 (start and end point are the same, so you see 4 points, but there are 5 of them) control points.
